A.L.I.C.E. Housing/Shelter Initiative

Providing Safe and Stable Housing for Our Community

United Way of Lewis County is dedicated to supporting A.L.I.C.E. (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families by addressing their housing and shelter needs. Our A.L.I.C.E. Housing/Shelter Initiative focuses on providing safe, stable, and affordable housing solutions through programs like Scholars Haven and Scatter, ensuring that every family has a place to call home.

Scholars Haven

Scholars Haven's mission is to provide critical resources and services to unhoused students and students experiencing housing insecurity within the Centralia School District. Driven by compassion and a belief in the transformative power of education, Scholars Haven understands that every young person deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential, regardless of their housing situation.

Scatter

Scatter provides flexible housing solutions to meet the diverse needs of A.L.I.C.E. families. This program aims to:

  • Diversified Housing Options: Offering a range of housing options, from short-term emergency shelters to long-term affordable housing, tailored to the unique circumstances of each family.
  • Community Integration: Ensuring families are integrated into supportive communities where they can access essential services and build strong social networks.
  • Comprehensive Support Services: Providing holistic support, including case management, health services, and employment resources, to help families achieve self-sufficiency and stability.

By focusing on housing and shelter through programs like Scholars Haven and Scatter, the A.L.I.C.E. Housing/Shelter Initiative aims to provide a foundation for families to build a better future. Together, with the help of our partners and community supporters, we can ensure that every family has access to safe, stable, and affordable housing.
