Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Program Serving Over 2,400 Lewis County Children

Thousands of kids ages birth to five years old in Lewis County are receiving free monthly books to their homes as part of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program. United Way of Lewis County, in partnership with the Lewis County Rotary Foundation, launched this valuable early literacy program back in November of 2019 and have seen tremendous growth in the number of kids signing up over the past year.

Since the pandemic, access to books for young kids outside of the library has become more important to continue learning and growing a love for reading at home. Any child between the ages of 0-5 years of age living in Lewis County is eligible to sign up. Enrollment is available online at www.lewiscountyuw.com/dolly-partons-imagination-library.

Funding for the program has come from generous community supporters, businesses, fundraising events, and from the Lewis County Rotary Foundation. To keep this program alive, donations are being accepted; a $25 gift will sponsor one child for an entire year. Donations can be made by texting DOLLYBOOKS4KIDS to 44-321 or by mailing a donation to United Way of Lewis County at 450 NW Pacific Ave., Chehalis.
