Between Oct. 22, 2015 and November 19, 2015 charitable organizations interested in receiving United Way funding may submit a Letter of Intent to United Way of Lewis County for the 2016 Grant Funding Cycle.
United Way of Lewis County provides funding to charitable organizations that provide strategic programs in Lewis County for:
- Early Literacy- ensures that individuals are surpassing key readiness and early grade reading benchmarks.
- Youth Success –ensures that individuals are graduating from high school with the skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education or vocational training.
- Financial Stability –ensures individuals develop and build the financial and employability skills they need to make informed financial decisions to achieve long-term financial stability.
- Support Services - ensures funding for a network of services, (health, food, shelter, etc.) to help hard working individuals/families move past immediate needs that may prevent them from participating in programs that address their long term needs
Everything United Way of Lewis County does will be connected to the goal of breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty by focusing on the above mentioned four areas that are the greatest contributors.
United Way of Lewis County has put a stake in the ground to work to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for those people who want a better life for themselves and their families.

All letters of Intent must be submitted by November 19, 2015 by 4:00 p.m. Agencies selected to advance by the Community Investment Committee will be notified after December 7, 2015. Grant proposals will be due to United Way of Lewis County by Jan 14, 2016 at 4 p.m. Funding will begin July 1, 2016 and will be sustainable for one year, ending June 30, 2017.
