Stacey Stewart, the US President of United Way Worldwide will be addressing United Way staff, board members and partners on Thursday, July 18. The theme of the conference is “United Ways and Collective Impact.” She will be giving the keynote address.
“We are honored to have Stacey Stewart come to the Pacific Northwest to address our staff, board members and partners,” said Jody Moss, executive director of United Way of Clallam County and board chair, United Ways of Washington.
“We look forward to hearing more about collective impact and how we can continue to work together to advance the common good in each of our communities,” she added.
United Ways from Washington, Oregon and Idaho will spend the day learning about collective impact – an approach designed to create lasting solutions to social problems on a large-scale. It is a relatively new model used to bring communities together around a specific goal.
One of the ways that United Way addresses long-term, systemic issues is by recruiting people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done.
In addition to Stewart, speakers from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and FSG will speak with the conference attendees.
The conference will take place at Puget Sound Educational Service District's Blackriver Training & Conference Center on 800 Oakesdale Avenue SW Renton, WA 98057. Stewart’s address will take place at 9 a.m.
An evening reception to welcome Stewart to the Pacific Northwest will be held on July 17 at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle. The reception will be hosted by The Boeing Company and Coastal Community Bank.
